For a second year in a row my good friend Phil and I drove all the way from Gatineau to Québec city to attend the 8th edition of the Terra Incognita Festival at the Centre d’Art La Chapelle. The lineup for that second evening was Alex Carpani Band, Mars Hollow and Beardfish. First to hit the stage was the Alex Carpani Band from Italy, great show despite the addition of 2 new band members who was performing for a 3rd time together. Alex is quite a gentlemen and very pleasant talking with. Second was Mars Hollow from the US (California) who gave a strong performance, a great drummer pounding away and what about the bassist (Kerry Chicoine) energetic and clearly having fun performing for us all. Lastly but not least was Beardfish from Sweden, we were all quite happy to finally see those guys! And they seriously did not let us down, from “The Hunter” to “Harmony” and songs from their latest album Mammoth… a very strong performance. The encore was the highlight of the evening as they played the epic 35+ minutes classic “Sleeping in Traffic”.
A big thank you goes to Michel Bilodeau and his team for putting together another great festival.
I’m looking forward to next year!
